Busy weekend

Last weekend (or rather 2 weekedns ago, as I'm a bit late with this...) was very busy. We were a part of a happy occasion on Saturday- our friends Lars and Aon got married!!! We have known Lars for a while, he's our neighbour in Skovby, and now we're very happy to have met and got to know Aon- a wife of his from Thailand. It's very nice to have been a part of their long and romantic journey of getting to know each other, having a long distance relationship and now finally uniting in marriage. It brought some nice memories from our own good old days of Ryanair, MSN messanger chats, long phone calls and sad moments of saying good-bye at the airport. It also makes one believe in happy end (or beginning?), and that dreams DO COME TRUE...
Congratulations, Lars and Aon!!!

Oh, back to busy weekend, I had a 24-hour working shift on Sunday- that made the weekend long and busy for me.... But now I have 2 days off :D (told you there's a happy end!)

Winter vacation in Norway

7 - 14th February we (accompanied by Dasha, Sergey and Masha) visited Skeikampen in Norway where David's company has a double story apartment which employees can have for free one week at a time, whenever there is a vacancy in the booking. It's a great place, sleeps about 10, has everything you need in it including XBox360, Playstation, 2 x flat screens, washers, dryers, tea, coffee, salt and far too much pepper.
We spent the time swapping childcare duties, so Sergey and David took to the slopes in the mornings, and Katya and Dasha took to the cross country skis in the afternoons, with the exception of 2 days where they were on the downhill skis. Those not skiing were taking care of Elizabeth and Masha. Masha is a good ski beginner and learned some good balance, being able to ski down the gentle slopes on her own. Elizabeth was more interested in walking around in the snow, or being pushed downhill in the sled. She seems to like speed.
It was a perfect time to visit this ski area, as the school holidays had not begun for any scandinavian country, so we had the place to ourselves. David managed to get the snowboard up to 73 km/h and Sergey was registered at 104 km/h on skis - not possible when there are lots of people on the slopes, so we were pleased with the scarcity of people on the mountain.

We took alternate turns at cooking and shared some good times together. The temp was between -5 and -15, so that was perfect for winter sport, with sunshine every day.

We will definitely be back!

Here's some "action" shots from the top of the mountain- about 1300 m. It was the first day, so the guys were just warming up...
